brussels

we're just back from brussels today, and i had an amazing time! our hostel was right in the centre of the city, lots of little resturants that served traditional belgian food like "lamb shops" and scampi (actually prawns) and promised a free cocktail (actually a little glass of rose wine) but they were so cheap we fogave them their mis-translations and false advertising! first night we went for a drink in a tiny bar off Grand Place Grote Markt, i had raspberry beer, very nice and theo had leffe brune, then dinner in one of the resturaunts on Rue des Bouchers. actually every meal we had served the same dessert, creme caramel or flon, think set custard with a caramel sauce on top, not my favourite thing to eat seeing as i hate custard, but it grew on my by the last nite!

on saturday morning we were awakened by the maid coming into our room at 9 o clock, the again at 11 o clock, finally at 12 when she returned again and again didn't knock but let herself straight in, she was greeted by the sight of theo in nothing (i mean nothing) but his socks on, and she scampered off, only to return later when we were out to steal our towels...theo thinks she was getting her revenge for having to see him with fluffy hair....

on saturday nite we went to I Love Techno...what do I love? I...Love...Techno...
35 thousand people in one massive eh...air craft hanger of sorts!it was divided into 5 rooms, all about the size of the RDS in dublin, and one main "room" the had a curtained off area for screen projections of the dj playing, absolutly brilliant, lots of crazy happy people, including ourselves, we saw 2 many djs and other djs that i never heard of, but 35 thousand people can't be wrong!! got the tram and the train home and slept til about 12-ish, then had lazy lunch with the mad waiters on Rue des Bouchers, and for the afternoon we went to see the European Government buildings and took a walk around the area, then back for more drinkies and food before taking ourselves to bed...

got up this morning at half 5, got to the airport at 7:40 and got into limerick at 11....

the first blog

not much to blog about today... i have an ulcer the size of a crater on the inside of my cheek, i thought i was finally getting a wisdom tooth, but it turns out i had just gouged myself, possibly while sleeping, and this beastie had arisen. i feel like i have one hamster cheek, but no one else can even see the damn thing so it sounds like im a total hypochondriac (maybe i am, but i just want some sympathy, nothing wrong with that right?) also, i possibly took too many pain killers today, so im swinging between very happy (no pain, thinking the little fucker is gone haha) and dooooown (dear god, it hurts like a bitch and where are my extra strength panadol/solpadine/morphine in a tin)

going to belgium on friday, very exciting! im being taken for my birthday by my booooyfriend , sounds romantic but we're actually going to I Love Techno in gent, hopefully to dance like lunatics and partake in some very happy disco biscuits, can't wait:)

ive been pretending to write a book for oh, about a week now, its going to be called "100 ways to annoy a waitress" its actually a very brilliant idea i had, so i can vent about all the crap customers throw at me during the day, and how rude they are...you can get me a coffee, give me a bud, and so on...i think its going to be a best seller (pain killers might be affecting my judgement just a smidge)
